THE DUKE CITY SWAMPCOOLERS

Albuquerque Balloon Museum, 2007

Independence Day at the Museum.  You try playing in a round room with a domed ceiling sometime!

Westcliffe, Colorado, 2006

We opened the High Mountain Hay Fever festival, which also included Karl Shiflett, Seldom Scene, The Dry Branch Fire Squad, and other great bands too numerous to mention.  We even got to jam with the guys from The Big Country Show.

Here's a scan of the very flattering review Emily Drabanski gave us in the March 2006 issue of New Mexico magazine:

Bill's Excellent Adventure

Mr. Dufault got to sing a tune for the movie "Seraphim Falls," with Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan.  If we get permission we might get his piece of the sound track up.  Here he is on the set with Tom Adler on banjo and Rob Pine on fiddle.

We've already played at a surprising (to us) number of places.

Here's the evidence:

A summer gig on the Plaza at the UNM Health Sciences Center.  A great time (and sunburn) was had by all.

We even made it into the New York Times!  It's that old "what you know/who you know" thing.  Thank you, Doctor Daitz!

Here we are in the big tent at the 2004 New Mexico State Fair.

This one is from our set at Albuquerque's 2005 "Enchanted Desert" Bluegrass Festival, sponsored by Adelante, where we debuted "Swampcooler Breakdown" to an appreciative crowd.  What an honor to share the same stage as Blue Highway, King Wilkie, David Peterson & 1946, and our Albuquerque friends like Elliott's Ramblers, Coyote Xing, the Nob Hillbillies, Bluegrass Odyssey and Raising Cane:

Here we are (short Bill) in the "Songwriters Showcase" tent at the 2005 Albuquerque Folk Festival.  We had a great time, and tried out some new tunes.

More as we get 'em!
